Registration

Time to register for this year's signature event! The fee for the two day program is $35.00 for current members, $45.00 for non-members (this includes lapsed members), and $20.00 for students.

There are no session choices to be made for this T@TB. There will be something for everyone and a chance to connect with your colleagues. The times of the two events are below.

Description:	Learn about an escape room based oyster aquaculture!

Title:	Muddy Genes
Presenters:	Kaitlin Gannon
Description:	What does environmental DNA (eDNA), sea level rise and salt marsh mosquitoes all have in common? In 2016, the Jacques Cousteau National Estuarine Research Reserve (JCNERR), Rutgers University, and coastal county mosquito control agencies teamed up to begin a research project which examined the impact of rising sea levels on salt marsh mosquito populations using methods such as soil core sampling and eDNA analysis.This locally relevant research project inspired the creation of teaching modules which can be used in the classroom. In this presentation, we will review “Muddy Genes” an activity which simulates how scientists obtain and analyze environmental DNA (eDNA) and how this information can be used to make informed decisions about species management.

Title:	*Penguins in the Classroom: Utilizing Zoos and Aquariums as an Educational Resource.*
Presenter:	Jennifer Lengares Meyer
Description:	This session will discuss new and innovative ways to use zoos and aquariums to inspire students. It will focus on programming for teachers in both virtual and in-person formats utilizing live animals. Get in some zoom time with one of Jenkinsons' resident penguins, and learn about how they can be a useful tool in the classroom.

Description:	Using a few easy to find materials, learn how to model wave behavior, light in seawater, and factors affecting the density of seawater. This session will provide materials you can bring back to your classrooms using easily accessible experiments and materials.
